Live Literature Discussion Class for Grades 4th – 7th:

Class discussion will be based on the Center for Lit’s Socratic method.We will be reading the following 7 books over the course of the year. Suggested age is 4th – 7th. But please follow your child’s reading level.

Sign of the Beaver – LIVE Discussion on October 12th
Johnny Tremain – LIVE Discussion on November 9th
Amos Fortune, Free Man – LIVE Discussion on December 7th
Across Five Aprils – LIVE Discussion January 11th
By The Great Horn Spoon – LIVE Discussion February 8th
Caddie Woodlawn – LIVE Discussion March 8th
Homer Price – LIVE Discussion April 12th

Following are the details:

Students will participate in a self paced class with ONE Live class discussion for each book read, and OPTIONAL in game Minecraft assignments.  Live discussion will take place on select Tuesdays at 3:00PM CST.  Assignments will begin on Tuesday, September 15th with the first live book discussion on October 12th.

Live weekly Class with OPTIONAL in game Minecraft assignments – $200 or $30 for SKrafty EDU Subscribers

This class will cover the basics of literary analysis including Plot, Characters, Theme, Setting and Conflict. Class discussion will be based on the Socratic method with reading homework each week.. We will be reading the following 6 books over the course of the year. Suggested age is 6th grade & Up, but please follow your child’s reading level.
