Printable Minecraft Card

Are you gifting someone with a new Minecraft account this Christmas?  Someone on the SKrafty Facebook group mentioned that they’d like to see a printable gift certificate to put in the stocking this year so I decided to make one for you guys.

You will be able to print it out and write in their new Minecraft Name on the blank line.  If you haven’t picked out the name yet maybe you could write in a question mark or “your choice” or something like that.

Free Minecraft Advent Devotional Study

Minecraft Advent Activities

It is that time of year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ during this Christmas season!  Some families have an advent calendar, advent wreath, light candles, decorate a Jesse Tree, etc.  We will be learning about and participating in Advent this year, but we will be doing it Minecraft style.

How it works:

There will be a short weekly lesson with scripture reading and a Minecraft project for the day that relates to the day’s reading.

Following are the details:

Study will take place starting on Thursday, December 1st.  The day’s lesson will be posted each morning.  Don’t worry about getting behind or catching up.  You can just jump in whenever you get ready.   Students will log in to our EDU site to get their lesson and build for the day.  The builds will be done on SKrafty in the Advent server.

RESOURCES

Our family will be going through this study right along with you guys.  If you would like to follow along with something at home, we recommend one of the following (Totally Optional):

SKrafty Minecraft Young Crafters Math Class Book List

We are so looking forward to the Young Crafters Math class that starts in a couple of weeks.  My 7 yr old twins will be taking this one, and we are really looking forward to it!  I have been a huge fan of using living math books in our homeschool for several years now, and integrating the concept with Minecraft is a major bonus!

If you aren’t sure how it will work then let me explain.  We will read a book with our kiddos each week.  I will post the book list in just a moment right below.  The books are perfect for kiddos in Kindergarten through about 2nd or 3rd grade, and are really fun books that explain math concepts.

Each week there will also be a Minecraft project to go along with the book.  This assignment will match each book perfectly, and will help your young crafter practice the math skill they are learning that week.  The books are easily found at the library, Amazon or another local bookstore.  Following is a list of the books you will need for the class:

Each Orange had 8 Slices by Jr. Giganti Paul

One Hundred Hungry Ants by Elinor J. Pinczes

12 Ways to Get to 11 by Eve Merriam

The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins

A Fair Bear Share by Stuart J. Murphy

Even Steven and Odd Todd by Kathryn Cristaldi
