Grades 9-12 Writing : US Literature
Join us as we study American Literature together. This class is a one credit high school English credit with course has three main components: reading, discussion, and writing. We will read some of the greatest novels, short stories, and poems from great authors. We will engage in lively, active discussion of the reading every week. We will write multiple essays, one of them a research essaying using MLA style. Students will learn about literary terms and devices that are important to American literature.

The Scarlett Letter
The Call of the Wild
The Red Badge of Courage
The Gift of the Magi
Uncle Tom’s Cabin
Fahrenheit 451
To Kill a Mockingbird
