We are so looking forward to the Young Crafters Math class that starts in a couple of weeks. My 7 yr old twins will be taking this one, and we are really looking forward to it! I have been a huge fan of using living math books in our homeschool for several years now, and integrating the concept with Minecraft is a major bonus!
If you aren’t sure how it will work then let me explain. We will read a book with our kiddos each week. I will post the book list in just a moment right below. The books are perfect for kiddos in Kindergarten through about 2nd or 3rd grade, and are really fun books that explain math concepts.
Each week there will also be a Minecraft project to go along with the book. This assignment will match each book perfectly, and will help your young crafter practice the math skill they are learning that week. The books are easily found at the library, Amazon or another local bookstore. Following is a list of the books you will need for the class:
Each Orange had 8 Slices by Jr. Giganti Paul
One Hundred Hungry Ants by Elinor J. Pinczes
12 Ways to Get to 11 by Eve Merriam
The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins
A Fair Bear Share by Stuart J. Murphy
Even Steven and Odd Todd by Kathryn Cristaldi
