Introduction to Weather Concepts and History
This is a 4-week class (8 lessons) introductory class that delves into some basic weather concepts and historic examples of severe weather.
The learning goals for this course will be to instruct the students about several different introductory scientific concepts about weather and some specific examples of severe weather throughout history. This course will introduce the learner to different types of clouds, how lightning works, tornadic activity, blizzards, how humans can potentially modify weather, the forecast for the D-Day Invasion, and some specific examples of severe weather. Furthermore, the discussion in the classes will focus on scientific concepts and historic events. The desire of the teacher is to engage the students with questions and dialogue to help them further learn the material and answer questions. There will be no assigned homework, but one quiz in this class, and the teaching style will be lecture via power point material with a few questions asked of the students.
This course is an 8-lesson (4 Weeks) course.
11:00 am – 12:00 am CST beginning on Wednesday, November 4th and will be ending Friday, November 27th.
