Edward Lyton said, “Classic literature is always modern.” The goal for this class is to bring classic literature alive to high school students. Younger students will be considered. Please contact the instructor.
UPDATE – Orientation for Classic Literature will take place at NOON CST on Wednesday, August 31st. A link will be provided via email and in the Important Information section of this course. The session will be recorded and placed in the Important Information section if you are unable to make the live session, but you MUST watch before attending your first class session.
Course Structure:
Join us as we study Classic Literature together. This class is a one credit high school English credit with three main components: reading, discussion, and writing. We will read some of the greatest novels, short stories, and poems from great authors. We will engage in lively, active discussion of the reading every week. We will write multiple essays, one of them a research essaying using MLA style. Students will learn about literary terms and devices that are important to Classic literature.

Class Details:
The high school literature class will meet every week beginning on September 15th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm CST. Microphones will be required for class.

Books and Curriculum
Literature Modules and worksheets will be posted on the Skrafty EDU to print out for homework. Your responsibility is to purchase the above books and keep all Literature Modules in a 3-ring binder for organization. The materials for Week 1 PRE HOMEWORK is available now in the first section called “Important Course Information.”
